When I wear my hair straight, I like it to be absolutely bone straight and sleek! After I had put my previous extensions through so much and also bleaching it, as it's real hair, it obviously required just a little more attention to maintain a shiny and sleek look. This product was a random buy whilst purchasing my TRESemme heat protecting spray and it was mentioned in one of my "What's New" post.

You're meant to use this spray whilst your hair is damp but I noticed I preferred the results of it when the hair was 80% dry or dry. On most days, I'd use it just before straightening and it really did make that difference! It eliminates any frizz that you may have and leaves a smooth finish to your hair. I also noticed that over time, your hair requires less straightening as it is a product that is used to train your hair to be straight. I'd wake up and have barely any straightening to do! The straightening spray also contains Argan Oil from Morocco which I love as you all know so it's not really necessary to buy a separate Argan Oil product if you don't want to. Apart from the fact that the extensions were good quality, I do believe the Argan Oil aided in the smooth and silky finish. 

Those of you who have your hair straight a lot or are always straightening and don't know what to use on your virgin extensions, this is a good product to try out.

My mum has just recently bought me 2 more bottles of this though I haven't even finished the bottle I purchased but with this Virgin Filipino hair I doubt I'd be needing this spray any time soon!

Hair | My New Virgin Filipino Hair Extensions

Since I've started my blog, I haven't gotten any new long bundles of hair to show you until now! I've mainly been reusing my Virgin Peruvian/Cambodian hair and it's time I gave them a break. In most pictures you see of me on my blog or instagram, I am using my Peruvian hair and in some cases, Cambodian at the back. The hair in my previous FOTD post was 3 bundles of Virgin Peruvian and 2 bundles of Virgin Cambodian hair. The Peruvian is the same hair that I've had in many other posts but I had bleached it.  



I thought I'd take a picture and show you my new Virgin Filipino hair that I haven't used yet so you can see how it looks before I've put it in. My picture really isn't doing this hair any justice! It looks much nicer in person and has a natural shine to it. This time I'm only using 4 bundles of 100g because the hair is really thick from top to ends so I don't need as much as I would usually use. The lengths are meant to be 18", 20" x 2 and 22" but they've all measured longer than that. 

I've just had it made into a u-part with a silk closure but I'm still considering maybe getting it more layered. When I've fully installed it, I may take a pic to show you all.

What's New (Part 2): Tresemme, Aussie, MAC, Argan Oil, Superdrug..♥

This part of my 'What's New' post focuses more on recent hair products that I've bought and very few makeup items. 

100% Cosmetic Argan Oil 

I was meant to feature this product on my blog when I first got back from Morocco but I completely forgot. As most of you already know Argan oil originates from Morocco so I thought this would obviously be the best place to purchase the oil. I use it on my Virgin hair and it makes it feel so soft and keeps it moisturised. I managed to bring 3 large sized bottles back to England. They were bought for 50 dirhams (I knocked the price down from 120 dirhams! Can you believe it?!) from the market in Marrakech. 50 dirhams is around £3.50. They had many different Argan oil products including black soap with Argan oil which I've forgotten to take a picture of! The soap was less than 10 dirhams.

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner

My hair was bleached last month so it's really important that I'm using products that will keep it moisturised. So far I'm really liking the Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner because it has a lovely smell and makes your hair very soft! They are both larger versions which were bought from Costco but if you're not able to buy from Costco they have the slightly smaller sized ones in places like Superdrug. They are currently having a 2 for £6.99 offer on Aussie products in Superdrug if you're interested in buying them.

Tresemme Heat Defence Spray

My Tresemme Heat Defence leaked in my suitcase so it needed replacing. I always use this before blow drying or straightening hair.

Tresemme Smooth Memory Straightening Spray

I very rarely curl my hair anymore as I feel it just takes too long to do so I've been going more for the sleek straight look. Whilst looking for my Tresemme Heat Defence Spray, I came across this product which is meant to train hair to become straighter, smoother and less frizzy over time. It also includes Argan Oil which is a plus.

Superdrug Makeup Sponges

These are just multipurpose makeup wedge sponges. I've only just realised they're quite small compared to the sponges I'm used to using. 

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

I know that I usually use the shade Dark but I wanted to try Dark Deep. For my skintone at the moment, I prefer Dark Deep and I've even been getting more compliments on my makeup since I've switched shades. I may go back to Dark during winter.

MAC Morange Lipstick

When I wrote my post about MAC Vegas Volt, I mentioned wanting another orange lipstick for the season and I wasn't too sure how I felt about the boldness of MAC Morange so I was going to go for MAC So Chaud. It was Back2MAC time, so I went to the MAC in Stratford Westfield to try both Morange and So Chaud on. After having them both on, I decided that I preferred MAC Morange though it is a very loud colour. I believe I can work with it. As one of my readers suggested, it can be used with a brown lip liner. After trying on So Chaud with a red liner, I still had on red liner whilst trying on Morange as it was hard to get off. Believe it or not but Morange with a red liner was a nice combination. This post obviously doesn't include a swatch of the colour but I will swatch it or do a FOTD post at a later date if you would like me to.

Review: ghd Gold Series Max Styler

Sorry for my non-existence in the past week but I'm back at uni now so I've been a little busy with meeting deadlines and I just haven't had any time for blogging. I've got that out of the way now so I thought I'd write a post today as I haven't done so in a while.

As you all know from this post here, I got a ghd Gold Max Styler for Christmas! I also asked if you would like a full review on them and a couple of you said that you would so here it is!

There are three different sized stylers in the ghd gold series range; mini, classic and max. As you can probably tell from the pictures above and the title of the post, I own the max styler. The max styler has the widest plates out of the range and are specifically good for long, thick or curly hair because of the plate size. I chose the max styler because my extensions are quite lengthy and I wanted straighteners which would take the smallest amount of time to achieve results. 





Though the plates are wide, these straighteners are unbelievably lightweight. Due to its light weight, it makes it more convenient to travel with this straightener if necessary.





These straighteners heat up very quickly. Once switched on, it will make a noise and the 'ghd' logo on the switch will flash to indicate that it is on. When it is ready to be used, it will beep three times so that you are aware that it has heated up and the flashing will stop. They heat up to the maximum heat of 230°C within approx. 30 seconds and there is no way to adjust this heat setting which can be seen as a downfall for some. You have to be very careful as they do get extremely hot. I have found that the upper body also get very hot and can burn your fingers if held for too long.







As with most straighteners, you can do more than just straighten with this but the curved plates make it easier than most straighteners to create curls, waves and flicks. I love the fact that you can create versatility with just one product.





You will never have to worry about forgetting to turn them off if you were in a rush as they automatically shut down within 30mins of inactivity which is good for those of you who are offenders of leaving your straighteners on!





For tidy storage and protection, these straighteners come with a protective plate guard that is worn over the top and keep the plates locked together. 





Below are before and after pics of my hair extensions just after I'd washed them. As you can see they had a lot of volume and weren't poker straight after air drying. I managed to straighten everything in 10mins and here are my results. Because of how good these straighteners are, you only need to pass them through an area once for it to be straightened which is definitely a pro!

Overall Thoughts

In my opinion, the ghd max styler is a good straightener to own. I cannot vouch for the others in the range because I have not tried them though I'm sure they'll work just as well. I know that these straighteners do not come cheap but I believe that they are good value for money as they can be used for much more than just straightening. You can save yourself from spending money on tongs and curlers because you can achieve the same results using these! A few months ago, I don't know why but I had the sudden urge for a pair of ghd straighteners. Now I know there was a big hype about them a few years back but for some reason, I wasn't bothered until recently. I guess because I already owned a HerStyler straightener which was working pretty well until the plates fell out and I was due for a new pair.

As Christmas was coming up, I thought I'd cheekily ask for ghd's as I wasn't really prepared to spend over £100 on straighteners. Though I don't often wear my hair bone straight, I still thought it would only be right to own at least one pair of really good ones.

My Favourite Hair Products Of 2011

Favourite Hair Products Of 2011..♥

Once again I've come with another post on favourite products of 2011 but this time focusing on hair products which I use most frequently and have made a difference to my hair in the past year. 

In case you're wondering, I won't be doing a post on my favourite skincare products because my favourites really are just what was in my "Current Daily Skincare Routine" post. Click here to see. 

1. 100% Pure Rosemary Oil

This is a great oil to use on your scalp as it stimulates growth. I use it mixed with castor oil, coconut oil and peppermint oil.

2. Fantasia ic Heat Protector Straightening Spray

To protect my hair and extensions from heat damage, I usually lightly spray this before straightening. It is aloe enriched and also makes your hair shiny after use. 

3. Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion

This is a lightweight foaming lotion which I actually use before I wrap my hair to go to sleep. It keeps my hair in the desired style without being stiff.

4. Pure Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is very good for the hair as it moisturises and strengthens as well as acts as a great conditioner. I apply this liberally (with castor oil, rosemary and peppermint oil) and detangle my hair the night before I shampoo as it really does soften the hair well. 

5. Hollywood Beauty Argan Oil From Morocco Smoothing Hair Creme

I'm in love with this product! It is a hair creme that contains argan oil which I'm sure you've all heard of. It smells beautiful and makes my virgin hair extensions so smooth, silky and gives it shine. 

6. Pure Castor Oil

Castor oil is known for thickening the hair. I massage this into my scalp along my edges where my hair has broken to promote growth and thickness. 

7. Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Water-Based Wax

I love that this wax is water based as it doesn't leave my hair greasy like some other products may do. Click here for a full review on this product!

8. Hollywood Beauty Argan Oil From Morocco

I'm sure you've all come across the hype of argan oil on other blogs and maybe YouTube. This oil along with the smoothing creme are fantastic products. I use this on my virgin hair extensions and it makes the hair very glossy/shiny and healthy without looking greasy at all if you apply the right amount of product. I also use this on my natural hair before I blow dry it for the same finish. Works wonders for dry ends and I would recommend anyone to buy it regardless of your hair type. 

9. 100% Pure Peppermint Oil

This is oil is beneficial if you suffer from an itchy scalp or dandruff as peppermint oil is known to be good for that. It is usually mixed with the other oils I own and then applied to my scalp. 

10. Melaleuca Herbal Shampoo

Last but definitely not least, this herbal shampoo by Melaleuca works wonders. It is a fantastic shampoo that doesn't leave your hair stripped of its natural moisture. When I used this on my extensions, it made them so soft, shiny and silky that I actually could not believe it. I used to use Tresemme but I have abandoned their shampoo and conditioner after using this one. I found that with this shampoo, a conditioner wasn't even needed after because it acts as a conditioning shampoo!

Once again I've come with another post on favourite products of 2011 but this time focusing on hair products which I use most frequently and have made a difference to my hair in the past year.

This is a lightweight foaming lotion which I actually use before I wrap my hair to go to sleep. It keeps my hair in the desired style without being stiff.

4. Pure Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is very good for the hair as it moisturises and strengthens as well as acts as a great conditioner. I apply this liberally (with castor oil, rosemary and peppermint oil) and detangle my hair the night before I shampoo as it really does soften the hair well. 

5. Hollywood Beauty Argan Oil From Morocco Smoothing Hair Creme

I'm in love with this product! It is a hair creme that contains argan oil which I'm sure you've all heard of. It smells beautiful and makes my virgin hair extensions so smooth, silky and gives it shine. 

6. Pure Castor Oil

Castor oil is known for thickening the hair. I massage this into my scalp along my edges where my hair has broken to promote growth and thickness. 

7. Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Water-Based Wax

8. Hollywood Beauty Argan Oil From Morocco

I'm sure you've all come across the hype of argan oil on other blogs and maybe YouTube. This oil along with the smoothing creme are fantastic products. I use this on my virgin hair extensions and it makes the hair very glossy/shiny and healthy without looking greasy at all if you apply the right amount of product. I also use this on my natural hair before I blow dry it for the same finish. Works wonders for dry ends and I would recommend anyone to buy it regardless of your hair type. 

9. 100% Pure Peppermint Oil

This is oil is beneficial if you suffer from an itchy scalp or dandruff as peppermint oil is known to be good for that. It is usually mixed with the other oils I own and then applied to my scalp. 

10. Melaleuca Herbal Shampoo

Last but definitely not least, this herbal shampoo by Melaleuca works wonders. It is a fantastic shampoo that doesn't leave your hair stripped of its natural moisture. When I used this on my extensions, it made them so soft, shiny and silky that I actually could not believe it. I used to use Tresemme but I have abandoned their shampoo and conditioner after using this one. I found that with this shampoo, a conditioner wasn't even needed after because it acts as a conditioning shampoo!
