La Femme Blush Swatches

La Femme Blush Swatches..

Feels like it has been ages since my last post. I'm in the process of redecorating my room so everything is all over the place. Anyway, I wanted to show you swatches of the La Femme blushes I purchased because I know there are soooo many shades to pick from and you might be interested in knowing what the ones I have look like. My palette which was bought from Makeup Mania consisted of 12 shades. I think they more or less have the full range of shades on that website. I'm not sure why Love-makeup stopped stocking these blushes and they've become quite hard to source in the UK. Genie Cosmetics stock them for £2.99 but have a very limited selection and nothing compared to Makeup Mania.

The range of shades I own have mixed finishes; some matte, some shimmer. I personally don't really like shimmery blushes so the downfall of buying from Makeup Mania is that you don't know the finish of the shade you are buying which is quite annoying (unless maybe I just didn't see it). There were so many shades to choose from and apart from Russet and Sienna, the rest were random picks.

1. Red (shimmer)
2. Sienna (matte)
3. Redwood (shimmer)
4. Russet (shimmer)
5. Grape (shimmer)
6. Magenta (matte)
7. Coral (matte)
8. Dusty Rose (shimmer)
9. Terracotta (shimmer)
10. Peach (matte)
11. Mauve (matte)
12. Indian Rose (matte)

I have only used a blush from this palette once so I cannot give you a full review yet. Though I haven't used all shades, after swatching them, my initial thoughts were that some shades were extremely pigmented!

Have any of these shades caught your eye?

How I Highlight My Face

How I Highlight My Face..

For those that have asked, this is a post to show you how I use concealer to highlight my face. I know other people also highlight their cupids bow and chin but I personally don't. I only highlight the centre of my forehead and my undereye area for that "Kim K glow".  I am not a professional so apologies if I highlight incorrectly but this is the way I feel comfortable with.

The concealer used for highlighting is entirely up to you but if you do have fine lines under your eyes and you want to avoid creasing, be sure to set your concealer with a powder of choice. Click HERE to read my post on how to prevent your concealer from creasing.

Depending on my mood, the concealers that I use vary, though I tend to pick up my MAC Prolongwear concealer more often. I have this concealer in NC42, NC45 and NW40. The shade NC42 is the one I use majority of the time. NC45 is worn on days where I'm going for something more natural or I don't want my undereye area to be so bright. I never use the NW40 because after purchasing it, I realised that I don't really like the shade against my skin tone. If you're like me and usually use MAC concealers, the MAC Studio Finish concealers are also nice to use for highlighting provided that they are set very well. If you're not careful, yes this concealer will crease like crazy. If set, it is a good concealer to use for highlighting and out of the MAC concealers, will give you the most coverage and can also be used to achieve a glam look if that's what you're after. I own this concealer in the shade NC45.
All my highlighting is done after my liquid foundation has been applied. When highlighting my under-eye area, I highlight in the shape of an upside down triangle. Using a makeup sponge, I then blend out the edges of my concealer into my foundation. Once the concealer has been blended, I use my under-eye setting powder to prevent the concealer from creasing.

Using the same concealer, I apply the concealer to the centre of my forehead and the bridge of my nose. Once again, I blend the concealer into my foundation using a sponge. I also set this area with the same powder.

Once I've highlighted these areas, I go on to apply my finishing powder and complete the rest of my face.

When highlighting, go for a shade about 2 shades lighter than your skin tone making sure you try your best to blend.

Anyone who has tried YSL Touche Eclat or Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer, please let me know how you found these for under-eye application. Is there any other concealer you would recommend for this as I would like to branch out and try other brands.

FOTD: Wearing MAC Morange Lipstick

FOTD: Wearing MAC Morange Lipstick..

As quite a few of you asked to see how MAC Morange lipstick looked, I thought I'd wear it today so that I could show you. There's been times where I've wanted to wear this lipstick out but been put off because I was scared as it is so bright. I think Morange and MAC Impassioned are the brightest lipsticks that I own from MAC and I haven't worn either of them out of the house. I always put them on then wipe it off just before I walk out the door.

Remember I said that Morange looked nice with MAC Red lip liner? Well I don't own that liner so I couldn't do the same combination. The red liner that I do own is from NYX and it didn't look as good so I just wore it with MAC Cork lip liner for you all to see. Cork did help tone down the colour a bit but I still don't think I'm brave enough for it yet. Maybe I should have opted for MAC So Chaud...

Are you after that summer glow?

Are you after that summer glow?..

Hey beauts!
It really upsets me that our summer in England this year is pretty much non existent. Regardless of the weather, I thought I'd introduce you to Karamel & Brown, a brand which develops products for Asian, Black and Mixed heritages to achieve a sun-kissed look.

I've always wanted a little more warmth in my skin so when I found out that I would be reviewing their products, I was very excited.

Karamel & Brown have a variety of products to choose from to create your glow. It is perfect for those who don't want to wear foundation in the summer but crave glowing skin.  From their range, I've tested out their Glow Creme and Glow Mousse. When both are used together on the face, it really eliminates the need for foundation, concealer and bronzer. You can also use them on your whole body or even just on your legs for a sexy sun-kissed glow.
The good thing about this brand is that they also offer 50ml trial sizes for just £6.95!

I'm not going to go in depth about the products in this post as I have written a full review on them which can be found on the Amitee Blogazine. Click HERE to read more about my thoughts on the Karamel & Brown Glow Creme and Glow Mousse.

For more information, check out their website http://www.karamelandbrown.co.uk or follow them on twitter @KaramelandBrown

Below are pictures from my review as proof that this product does actually work!

Happy 1st Birthday Wonders of Beauty!

Happy 1st Birthday Wonders of Beauty..

I can't believe it has already been a year since I started blogging. With 500 followers on Blogger and Bloglovin', though it may not be a lot to others, it is to me and I am just so grateful for those who continue to read and support my blog. Blogging has really opened doors and opportunities that I didn't even expect and I haven't looked back since starting last August. Even though at times I do lack motivation, I enjoy sharing my views, tips and makeup knowledge with you all and I hope I have helped at least someone out there through my posts.

Thank you to all those who regularly comment and interact and also to those who don't use any sort of platform such as Blogger or Bloglovin' to follow but still read my blog.

Love from,

Love from,

What's New (Part 2): Tresemme, Aussie, MAC, Argan Oil, Superdrug

What's New (Part 2): Tresemme, Aussie, MAC, Argan Oil, Superdrug..
This part of my 'What's New' post focuses more on recent hair products that I've bought and very few makeup items.

100% Cosmetic Argan Oil
I was meant to feature this product on my blog when I first got back from Morocco but I completely forgot. As most of you already know Argan oil originates from Morocco so I thought this would obviously be the best place to purchase the oil. I use it on my Virgin hair and it makes it feel so soft and keeps it moisturised. I managed to bring 3 large sized bottles back to England. They were bought for 50 dirhams (I knocked the price down from 120 dirhams! Can you believe it?!) from the market in Marrakech. 50 dirhams is around £3.50. They had many different Argan oil products including black soap with Argan oil which I've forgotten to take a picture of! The soap was less than 10 dirhams.

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner
My hair was bleached last month so it's really important that I'm using products that will keep it moisturised. So far I'm really liking the Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner because it has a lovely smell and makes your hair very soft! They are both larger versions which were bought from Costco but if you're not able to buy from Costco they have the slightly smaller sized ones in places like Superdrug. They are currently having a 2 for £6.99 offer on Aussie products in Superdrug if you're interested in buying them.

Tresemme Heat Defence Spray
My Tresemme Heat Defence leaked in my suitcase so it needed replacing. I always use this before blow drying or straightening hair.
£4.69

Tresemme Smooth Memory Straightening Spray
I very rarely curl my hair anymore as I feel it just takes too long to do so I've been going more for the sleek straight look. Whilst looking for my Tresemme Heat Defence Spray, I came across this product which is meant to train hair to become straighter, smoother and less frizzy over time. It also includes Argan Oil which is a plus.
£4.99

Superdrug Makeup Sponges
These are just multipurpose makeup wedge sponges. I've only just realised they're quite small compared to the sponges I'm used to using.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural
I know that I usually use the shade Dark but I wanted to try Dark Deep. For my skintone at the moment, I prefer Dark Deep and I've even been getting more compliments on my makeup since I've switched shades. I may go back to Dark during winter.
£21.00

MAC Morange Lipstick
When I wrote my post about MAC Vegas Volt, I mentioned wanting another orange lipstick for the season and I wasn't too sure how I felt about the boldness of MAC Morange so I was going to go for MAC So Chaud. It was Back2MAC time, so I went to the MAC in Stratford Westfield to try both Morange and So Chaud on. After having them both on, I decided that I preferred MAC Morange though it is a very loud colour. I believe I can work with it. As one of my readers suggested, it can be used with a brown lip liner. After trying on So Chaud with a red liner, I still had on red liner whilst trying on Morange as it was hard to get off. Believe it or not but Morange with a red liner was a nice combination. This post obviously doesn't include a swatch of the colour but I will swatch it or do a FOTD post at a later date if you would like me to.
£14.00

That's the end of my 'What's New' posts until my next purchases. I know these products are not as exciting as my package from America but what are your thoughts?
